The following is a workaround to update Camera Raw within Elements. It is recommended to wait for Camera Raw updates within the product for issue fixes. If you haven't been able to update the Camera Raw plug-in for Elements, follow these steps: Download and install the latest Camera Raw version.

As mentioned here, updates to Camera Raw 8 for Photoshop CS6 only include new camera support, lens profile support, and bug fixes. The new features listed in the release notes are only available in Photoshop CC. Please note that Camera Raw 8.4 and DNG Converter 8.4 will not work on Windows XP, Windows Vista or Mac OSX 10.6. The Adobe Camera Raw Application for Mac provides quick, easy-to-use RAW image formats in Photoshop, which are made up of advanced, mid-digital professional cameras.

If you still haven't been able to successfully update the Camera Raw plug-in for currently supported versions of Adobe applications, use the Camera Raw 13.0 installer below.

For older Adobe applications, substitute with the Camera Raw 10.5 installer below.

Download the appropriate file below, and then follow these instructions:

  1. Quit all Adobe applications.
  2. Double-click the downloaded .zip file to unzip it. Windows might unzip the file for you.
  3. Double-click the resulting .exe file to start the installer.
  4. Follow the onscreen instructions.
  5. Restart your Adobe applications.

  2. Click the downloaded .dmg file. In case of Camera Raw 10.5, double-click the .zip file to unzip it.
  3. Double-click the .pkg file to start the installer.
  4. Follow the onscreen instructions.

Adobe Photoshop Cs6 Camera Raw Update For Mac

If you haven't been able to update the Camera Raw plug-in for Elements, follow these steps:

  1. Download and install the latest Camera Raw version from Camera Raw plug-in installer.

    • On macOS, double-click the .dmg file to mount it.
    • On Windows double-click the downloaded .zip file to unzip it. (Windows might unzip the file for you.)
    • On macOS, double-click the .pkg file to start the installer.
    • On Windows, double-click the resulting .exe file to start the installer.

  4. Once installed successfully, close the installer window.

  5. Navigate to the following folder:

    • On macOS: /Library/Application Support/Adobe/Plug-ins/CC/File Formats
    • On Windows: C:Program FilesCommon FilesAdobePlug-InsCCFile Formats

  6. Copy the Camera Raw plug-in from the CC > File Formats folder that is mentioned in the above step.

  7. Navigate to the following folder:

    • On macOS: /Library/Application Support/Adobe/Plug-ins/Elements<Version Number>/File Formats
    • On Windows: C:Program FilesCommon FilesAdobePlug-InsElements<Version Number>File Formats

  8. Replace the existing Camera Raw plugin in Elements<Version Number> folder with the plug-in that you copied in step 8.
